John McLaughlin

A Festival regular since his first appearance in 1974, John McLaughlin is one of the most influential jazz guitarists of his generation. Recognised as a pioneer of jazz fusion, his interests over the course of a varied career have included blues, flamenco and Indian music. The English artist has been involved in many experimental groups, performing with Miles Davis, in a trio with Al Di Meola and Paco de Lucia and with the Mahavishnu Orchestra and Shakti. Alternating acoustic with electric, he continues to build dazzling musical bridges between cultures while pursuing his own spiritual quest.
