An American pianist with prodigious swing, Christian Sands is one of today’s leading jazz artists. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with Gregory Porter, Esperanza Spalding, Dianne Reeves, Christian McBride, and Grégoire Maret. In 2020, Sands was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Instrumental Composition category. On his latest album, Embracing Dawn, the 36-year-old pianist continues his musical explorations, blending agile post-bop, bluesy touches, and orchestrations inspired by his passion for cinema. This summer, he performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival for the third time.
