After winning a Montreux Jazz Talent Award in 2018, Islandman returns to once again mesmerize the Montreux audience. Based in Istanbul, producer and musician Tolga Böyük created the project, later joined by guitarist Erdem Başer and percussionist Eralp Güven. In concert, this electro-acoustic formation weaves sinuous improvisations between electronic textures, intricate melodies, and soaring guitars. Rooted in the legacy of Turkish psychedelia, Islandman’s music is unlike any other, radiating both universality and otherworldliness. This fall, the group is set to release its fifth studio album, Island5.
