A 25-year-old Swiss-Palestinian drummer and composer based in Zurich, Ramzi Hammad weaves Middle Eastern rhythms into contemporary jazz with an urban groove. In 2022, he founded the RH-Collective, inspired by the London jazz scene. Recently awarded the Jazzpreis from ZHdK and m4music’s “New Jazz Showcase,” the band has quickly stood out with its electric energy and sonic cohesion. After releasing the single Cross Rhythms (winter 2024), Ramzi unveiled his debut EP Melting Pot in spring 2025, a manifesto of both a multicultural Zurich and his bicultural journey. His music is vibrant and danceable, driven by precise, storytelling drumming.
