Federico Casagrande
Based in Paris, Italian guitarist Federico Casagrande is one of the leading voices in European jazz. A summa cum laude graduate of Berklee College of Music in 2006, he won the Montreux Jazz Guitar Competition the following year, with George Benson presiding over the jury. Since then, he has released 18 albums as a leader or co-leader—ranging from solo acoustic works to electric trios—and has collaborated with major figures in contemporary jazz such as Enrico Pieranunzi, Steve Swallow, Francesco Bearzatti, and Vincent Peirani. Performing regularly on major European and international stages, he stands today as a key figure in contemporary jazz guitar.
