Marcello Giuliani
Professor in sound construction and aesthetics in the Department of Current Music at the HEMU, Marcello Giuliani combines talents and musical experiences: it is on the classical guitar that he began his studies, to play his fingers especially on the bass, but also on the mandolin, the banjo or the double bass. A founding member of the Erik Truffaz Quartet, whose unique sound naturally shifts from jazz to instrumental pop, Marcello is fond of collaborations: with the Quartet, they work with Rokia Traoré and Oxmo Puccino, who add their voices to a few tracks on the latest album, Doni Doni. As a soloist, he plays or records with Jane Birkin, Françoise Hardy, Tété, Lou Doillon, Renan Luce, Henri Salvador and many others, and he produces the records of Sophie Hunger, Anna Aaron, the Young Gods, K. and Faber.
