Maria Chiara Argirò

Roman pianist Maria Chiara Argirò is based in London, where she moves between jazz, classical and electronic music. After studying at the London Centre of Contemporary Music and taking a degree in jazz at Middlesex University, she joined the experimental post-punk band These New Puritans, with whom she played as an opening act for Björk. In 2020, her collaboration with guitarist Jamie Leeming was named album of the year at the Jazz Revelations Awards. In 2022, her new album, Forest City, revealed her as a highly versatile artist. Freeing herself from the structures of jazz, she explores the boundaries of electronic possibilities, inspired by artists such as Jon Hopkins and Radiohead.
