2014 Piano Competition Second Prize

Now based in New York, the Franco-Malagasy pianist Mathis Picard has conquered the United States with his large ensemble “The Sound Orchestra”. This year he released his first solo album, “Live at the Museum”, which was praised by Downbeat magazine.

To celebrates its 15^th anniversary. the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation invited back seven artists who enjoyed further success after taking part in one of the piano, voice or guitar competitions.
