Rich Medina

One of the most renowned DJs on the US East Coast, Rich Medina conjures up funk, disco, house, Afrobeat and hip-hop to shake dancefloors all over the world. A collector of 50,000 vinyl records, Medina is a true scholar of Afro-American musical heritage. In the early 2000s, he made a name for himself by mixing for one of New York’s trendiest and most secretive clubs, a destination for the likes of Puff Daddy, Mos Def and Prince. For over 15 years, Medina has been perpetuating the work of the legendary Fela Kuti with his Jump N Funk nights, a passionate tribute to afrobeat and its iconic creator. A project he has presented in over 25 cities around the world, and which gave rise to a compilation released in 2016. As well as being a DJ, Rich Medina is also a producer, poet, lecturer, and has worked with artists such as Q-Tip, J Dilla and Jill Scott.
