Afra Kane
Winner of the 2019 Montreux Jazz Talent Award in the solo category, Afra Kane is an Italian-Nigerian singer-songwriter, having lived in the UK for a long time and now in Switzerland. It was while listening to Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone and Otis Redding that she developed a passion for music. Trained as a classical pianist, she composed her first songs at the age of 13, inspired by classical music, gospel, soul and jazz. In January 2019, she released her first EP, “Scorpio”. Afra Kane opened for Jack Savoretti during his Italian tour.
