Donat Kaufmann, well known in Swiss clubs for his rock band One Sentence. Supervisor, launched the Obliecht project, writing texts in a Swiss-German dialect during the pandemic. He is joined by Anuk Schmelcher, the multi-instrumentalist and winner of the Demotape Clinic at m4music 2023, and Elias Menzi, who shapes the trio’s sound with his Appenzeller hackbrett. Obliecht’s indie pop-rock is both uplifting and introspective, exciting and soothing. This first self-titled release is like a tender promise of a new musical friendship inspiring sharing, openness and respect.
